Beef with Onions and Glazed Carrots


  • 2 servings
  • 350g beef fillet, sliced
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 1/2 tsp butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons savory
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Heat olive oil in a pan on medium heat and add the onions. Sauté for a few minutes or until onions are golden brown. Add beef and cook, stirring for 5 minutes. Add broth and savory (don’t know what ‘savory’ is) and cook for another 5-7minutes or until beef is tender. Remove beefand place into a bowl. Let the liquid continue to cook covered until it thickens.

Put the carrots in a small saucepan with water. Add butter, pinch of salt and pepper, bring to a boil and cook over low heat until carrots are tender. (Question – you’re putting butter into boiling water?)

Arrange the beef andonionson the serving plate, add the drained carrots and some of the prepared sauce. Serve.
